PLAYING FORMATS

Our Playing Formats page sets out how the game is played across every age group at Teviot Downs Soccer Club, from our youngest MiniRoos right through to our senior teams.

The format for each level is matched to the age and development stage of the players, with details covering the ball size, game duration, and team numbers.

Younger age groups (Under 6–9) play smaller-sided games with a size 3 ball and 20-minute halves, gradually building up through the junior years to larger teams, bigger balls and longer matches, until players reach the full 11-a-side format with 45-minute halves at senior level.

Each grade also allows for interchange subs on the sideline, ensuring everyone gets plenty of game time.
